We currently have an opening for a top notch individual at our office in Latham, NY for the position of Human Resource Generalist.
The Generalist Responsible for administering various human resources support programs to include:
associate relations, recruiting, orientation, onboarding and training and development.
Offer primary guidance and support for policies and procedures for both union and non-union associates.
Essential
Responsibilities:
1.
Recruiting and support for exempt and non-exempt associates.
Assist HR/Recruiting Specialists with sourcing of candidates through on-line posting, Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and job fairs.
2.
Interview external talent as well as internal candidates for transfers/promotions within the organization.
3.
Organize and conduct New Hire Orientation and onboarding to include Benefit Orientation for all new hires at primary location and other locations as necessary.
4.
Work with Recruiting or HR Specialist to ensure temporary/consulting/staffing agencies on temporary/consultants requirements and/or temp to hire opportunities are fulfilled.
5.
Work with the hiring managers and staff to be aligned with current and applicable job descriptions and job profiles that reflect consistent job requirements and qualifications of each position.
6.
Ensure all new hire paperwork is consistently applied to include background information, drug testing and then follow through on scanning of new hire, benefit, payroll and termination paperwork.
7.
Work with HR Manager and Talent Management team on other openings and recruitment events throughout the organization.
8.
Conduct exit interviews on all exiting associates, specifically voluntary separations and appropriately report results.
9.
Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations regarding employment practices.
Work with the corporate office to maintain affirmative action plan and EEO-1 reporting as applicable.
10.
Assist with facilitating HR related training and annual Performance Review process.
11.
Analyze and report employment data from HRIS.
12.
Work closely with managers and associates on associate relations issues (to include shop stewards and union officers as applicable) on performance management.
Conduct investigations and document findings as required by the Company (i.
e.
, Grievances, warnings in a union environment).
13.
Participate in monthly union meetings and quarterly union meetings with shop stewards, HR Manager, Executives and union president (as applicable).
14.
Participate in union negotiations or facilitate union free training depending on the work environment.
15.
Other duties as assigned.
Education:
o Associate's degree with 7 years of experience working in human resources with a concentration on employee relations.
o Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or a related field with 4 years of experience working in human resources.
o Master's degree with 2 years working in human resources with a concentration in employee relations.
Experience & Background:
o Understanding of MS Office with proficiency in Word and Excel.
o Previous experience with a HRIS.
o Considerable knowledge of principles and practices related to employment law.
o Strong organization and time management skills.
o Detail oriented.
o Excellent verbal and written communications.
o Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
o Excellent interpersonal skills.
o Must be extremely perceptive.
o Able to work with individuals at all levels within the organization.
Language Skills:
o Excellent verbal and written communications.
o Bilingual (Spanish) helpful but not required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
